During  18, 19 and 20 June 2007, the Department of Education, Universities and Research, through its Vocational Training and Longlife Training Office, will organise the V Internacional Conference on Vocational Training. This Conference will be held at the Kursaal Convention Centre in Donostia-San Sebastián. and will have as its main topic Vocational Training: Flexibility and Adaptation to Changes."

On the one hand, the Conference will be focused on the analysis of the serious problem caused by the Generational transfer, due to the progressive aging of the population (low birth-rate and increase on the life-expectancy) that for the last years has led to a concerning change in the structure of the society in such a way that the number of people at working age has decreased substantially, causing difficulties for the employers to find new qualified personnel.

On the other hand, the Conference will also focus on the role that Vocational Training will have to play in order to avoid the negative impact that will affect the job market, mainly in the sphere of the small and medium-size companies, due to the shortage of skilled labour.
